Laguna Redang Island Resort has implemented a Solar PV hybrid project, marking a significant step toward sustainable tourism in Malaysia by providing clean and renewable energy to the resort.
Located on Pulau Redang in Terengganu, Malaysia, the project site is situated right beside the sea. As a result, the materials used for the solar structure must be capable of withstanding strong winds and resisting rust. Our partner, ERS Solar, recognized the engineering challenges and reached out to us to design and supply this installation.
Furthermore, our solar structures undergo wind tunnel testing using boundary-layer wind tunnels (BLWT). With the aid of our solar calculator, the system does not require anchor points; a ballast solar solution suffices, enabling a quick turnaround for solar deployment. This approach is cost-effective, especially since hiring skilled workers on the island can be expensive.
