Guam, a US territory in the western Pacific Ocean, adheres to US building codes, including ACSE7-21 wind codes for solar installation. Given its exposure to frequent typhoons, such as Typhoon Mawar in 2023 with winds of 140 mph (225 km/h), our installations have proven resilient. However, regular maintenance is essential, especially before a typhoon strikes, with particular attention to torque-checking clamps. Our solar software calculates structural loading to withstand speeds of up to 72m/s. Nonetheless, anchor points with ballast solutions are necessary for withstanding high winds, requiring skilled subcontractors to ensure proper installation without damaging concrete roofs.
