IKEA has recently installed a solar energy system at its new distribution center in Pulau Indah, a town within Port Klang, Malaysia. The solar plant is strategically located near the coast. To avoid any waterproofing issues, our solar ballasted solution is placed on top of a membrane roof without penetrating it. This installation considers the roof’s load-bearing capacity while ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations. Additionally, this is just the first phase, with phase 2 scheduled to begin when energy consumption increases in the future. IKEA is genuinely dedicated to incorporating green energy into its operations.
